Reading Corner

What is a reading corner?

Reading corner or book nook is a comfortable space to curl up with a good book. Whether your class is full of budding bookworms or reluctant readers, making a cosy reading space creates a magical experience for everyone.

We all know how important reading is to children's education, well-being and development; it improves literacy, sparks creativity and imagination. Providing a space where they can enjoy the magic of a good book is an easy way to encourage them to build these skills and fall in love with reading.

You can encourage children further by giving them a little time each day to relax and read a book of their choosing. Having a classroom reading corner would be the perfect place to do this.

  1. The forest friends reading corner sounds magical. A cosy space with natural textures and colours can make books feel even more alive. I’ve seen how adding soft rainbow carpets or cushions really helps children settle in and focus.
